Delaware Children in Nature operates under the guidance of the Program Coordinator, Dan Ashe, two chairpersons, Ray Bivens (DNREC) and Tonyea Mead (DOE) and six working committees.

Environmental Literacy

Environmental Literacy develop and implement a statewide environmental literacy plan.

Meaningful Outdoor Experiences improve the access to “meaningful outdoor experiences” for every student.

Greener Schools establish a direct path to improve school sustainability and environmental education.

Outdoor Connections improve connections between the public and park areas / green space by raising awareness and building positive perceptions.

Community Outreach mobilize local communities to engage families, neighborhoods and local governments to get people outside.

Health and Fitness raise awareness about childhood obesity and how outdoor play can help families maintain healthier, more active lifestyles.
